| Description du revers | An arched shrine or aedicula supported by two columns with a curved canopy, enclosing a standing figure of Nemesis facing left, holding a globe in her right hand and a cubit rule (ell) in her left. To the left of the shrine, a griffin is depicted; to the right, a wheel and a star appear in the field. These attributes are consistent with the cult iconography of Nemesis as worshipped in Pontic Sinope. The colonial Latin legend C I F S AN CCCXXX surrounds the design, recording the city's colonial status and regnal year. |
