During Gallienus's sole reign, after Valerian's catastrophic capture by Shapur I at Edessa in 260, the eastern mints and allied civic issues took on added political weight as the emperor worked to consolidate legitimacy across a fragmenting empire. The city's coinage from this period is sparsely documented, and X#94553 remains outside the major corpora.
