| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Achaean colonial coinage. The portrait presents the emperor in a slightly idealised manner with the laurel wreath clearly articulated around the head. The circumferential Latin legend frames the imperial effigy, running along the outer edge of the flan. |

| Reverse description | Roma, helmeted and draped, seated left on a throne, holding a long legionary standard in her extended right hand; a large round shield surmounted by a helmet rests at her left side. To the right, a youthful male figure identified as the Genius of Patras advances left, holding a short sceptre in his left hand and extending his right hand to crown Roma with a wreath. The composition reflects the colonial pride of Patras and its relationship with Rome, executed in the hammered provincial bronze tradition. |
