Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Bithynian provincial style. The emperor's laurel wreath is rendered with prominent beading along the crown, and the paludamentum fastening is visible at the shoulder. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the bold, slightly stylized engraving typical of eastern provincial workshops of the Antonine period.
