The wreath is composed of elongated olive leaves with berries, arranged symmetrically and tied with a ribbon at the bottom. The inscription, reading ΚΥΖΙΚΗΝ ΝΕΟΚΟ across multiple lines, serves as a civic honorific denoting Cyzicus as a neokorate city — a title of great prestige granted to cities hosting an imperial cult temple. The plain field and wreath type is a well-attested civic issue type for Cyzicus during the Severan and Antonine periods. |
