Beschrijving keerzijde	Cybele, the Anatolian mother goddess, is enthroned in a stately seated pose facing left, flanked on either side by a seated lion in heraldic arrangement, a composition emblematic of her cult in Pontic cities. In her extended right hand she holds a patera, while her left arm rests upon a tympanum, the ritual drum associated with her worship. The design reflects the strong local veneration of Cybele at Amastris and the Hellenistic artistic tradition of the region. The ethnic legend ΑΜΑϹΤΡΙΑΝΩΝ is inscribed in the field or around the periphery, identifying the issuing civic authority. The reverse composition is rendered in a bold, somewhat provincial style consistent with Pontic bronze coinage of the Severan period.
