Obverse description Bare, diademed head of the youthful hero-eponym Kyzikos facing right, rendered in a provincial style with flowing hair and naturalistic features. The neck is cleanly truncated. A partial Greek legend borders the field, reading ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ with the Zeta notably rendered in a reversed form, a distinctive epigraphic peculiarity of this civic issue. The portrait is modelled in moderate relief consistent with Antonine-period provincial bronzes of the Mysian conventus.
