| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with short hair rendered in fine curls characteristic of early Antonine portraiture. The emperor is depicted with a draped and cuirassed bust, the drapery visible at the truncation. The circumferential Greek legend runs around the effigy, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The die work, though worn, reflects the competent provincial engraving style associated with the Cyzicene mint. |
