Obverse description Draped and diademed bust of Empress Salonina, titled Chrysogone Augusta, facing right and set upon a crescent. The effigy displays characteristic provincial portraiture of the mid-third century AD, with the hair elaborately arranged and secured by a diadem. The encircling Greek legend names the empress with her honorific epithet. The crescent beneath the bust is a distinguishing iconographic attribute associated with Salonina on issues from the Lydian conventus.
