A star appears in the field, a common celestial attribute on Hypaepan civic bronzes of this period. The circular Greek legend ΚΟΝΔΙΑΝΟΥ ϹΤΡ ΥΠΑΙΠΗΝΩΝ names the local strategos Condianus as the issuing magistrate and identifies the civic authority of the Hypaepenians. The reverse type underscores the city's close cultic association with Artemis within the conventus of Ephesus. |
