| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass detailed with musculature. The effigy is executed in the characteristic provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with bold, high-relief modeling. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ ΠΟ ΛΙΚΙΝ ΒΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature as Publius Licinius Valerianus. |
