| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large agonistic crown, depicted in frontal view and rendered with elaborate geometric and foliate decoration, occupies the central field; two tall palm branches rise symmetrically from within the crown, their fronds spreading outward, symbolising athletic or civic victory. The crown itself is intricately worked with a lattice or reticulated pattern typical of prize crowns depicted on coins commemorating sacred games. A horizontal line divides the lower portion of the reverse field, beneath which the ethnic legend is inscribed in two lines, identifying the issuing community. The overall composition is typical of Ionian cistophoric and civic game-prize iconography of the 3rd century AD. |
