| Obverse description | Bare-headed, youthful bust of the Demos facing right, with flowing hair rendered in fine strands; the figure is unlaureated and undraped, consistent with the personification of the sacred people of Cadi. The encircling legend in Greek characters runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait style is characteristic of Lydian provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD, with naturalistic modeling of the facial features. |
