The quadriga composition, a four-horse chariot team, evokes the triumphal iconography associated with Trajan's Dacian campaigns. The regnal year date appears in the field, rendered in Greek numerals, identifying this issue to the fifteenth year of Trajan's reign in the Alexandrian calendar. |
