| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the vigorous portraiture style characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The effigy displays carefully articulated facial features with a strong profile, the laureate wreath clearly visible around the head. The Greek legend encircles the bust within a beaded border, distributed across the upper and lower fields. The aegis is indicated by overlapping scales at the left shoulder, conferring divine or military authority upon the emperor's image. |
