背面描述 The three Charites (Graces) depicted standing as a group, nude or semi-draped, facing front with arms interlinked in the traditional pose associated with this divine triad. The figures are rendered in a schematic provincial style characteristic of civic bronze coinage of Asia Minor. The ethnic legend of the issuing community is inscribed around the field, identifying the coin as a product of Briula.

附加信息

Briula was a minor Lydian city whose civic coinage under Trajan represents one of the few material attestations of the settlement's existence at all — it appears in almost no literary sources and its precise location remains debated among scholars. The conventus of Ephesus administered a sprawling region of western Anatolia, and smaller communities like Briula issued bronze locally to meet everyday transactional needs that Roman colonial currency did not reliably serve at the village level.

The reference III#2093 places this within a thinly documented series.
