Obverse description Radiate bare head of Divus Augustus facing left, depicted in the posthumous divine manner characteristic of Thessalian provincial coinage under Tiberius. The portrait exhibits finely rendered facial features with a prominent brow and slightly parted lips. The radiate crown, symbol of deification, encircles the head with evenly spaced rays. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field.
