Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Severus Alexander facing right, seen from the front, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Mysian mint at Cyzicus. The imperial effigy displays the layered paludamentum and cuirass typical of military portraiture of the Severan period. The encircling Greek legend runs around the bust, identifying the emperor by his full titulature.
