The god holds a plectrum in his extended hand and leans against a tall tripod around which a serpent is coiled; a lyre surmounts the tripod. The composition is a classic Apolline type widely employed in the civic coinage of Mysian and Lydian mints during the Severan period. The reverse legend is distributed around the field, naming the presiding magistrate and the civic community. |
