Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing left, depicted from the rear in a distinctive back-view presentation typical of certain provincial issues. The radiate crown projects prominently, and the military cuirass is rendered with schematic detail characteristic of Mesopotamian provincial die-cutting. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The coin's surface shows heavy patination consistent with its bronze alloy and provincial manufacture.
