| Obverse description | Bare-headed, youthful effigy of the hero Kyzikos facing right, depicted with idealized, classicizing features typical of provincial Greek civic coinage. The portrait is rendered in low relief with a diadem encircling the head, consistent with the heroic or quasi-divine status accorded to the city's eponymous founder.
