| 正面铭文 | ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ (Translation: Alexander) |
| 背面描述 | Standing figure of Alexander the Great facing, with head turned to the right, depicted heroically holding a long spear in his left hand and a parazonium (short sword) in his right hand. The figure is rendered in a commanding, quasi-divine posture befitting the Macedonian Koinon's reverential treatment of its legendary founder. The encircling Greek legend ΚΟΙΝΟΝ ΜΑΚЄΔΟΝΩΝ ΝЄΩ identifies the issuing body and the honorific epithet. The composition reflects the propagandistic use of Alexander's image under Severus Alexander's reign. |

The Koinon of Macedonia was a federally organized provincial assembly whose coinage functioned largely as a ceremonial and honorific output rather than primary trade currency. Issues under Severus Alexander coincide with his campaigns against the Sassanid Persians — a war that ended with Alexander claiming a triumph in 233 AD, though the military results were considerably less decisive than Roman propaganda admitted.
RPC VI 449 places this among a small, well-documented group of Macedonian koinon bronzes attributable to this reign.
