Reverse description Demeter, draped, seated left upon a kalathos (basket), her figure rendered in a dignified, static pose befitting the goddess of the harvest. In her extended right hand she holds ears of corn, and in her left hand she raises a long torch upright. The civic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ curves around the field, identifying the issuing city as Nicaea of Bithynia.
