| 裏面の説明 | Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess particularly venerated at Ancyra, depicted enthroned and seated to the left upon a high-backed throne. She holds a patera in her extended right hand and a long sceptre in her left, while her right arm rests upon a tympanum placed at her side. The magistrate's titulature legend in Greek surrounds the field, and the ethnic of the Ancyraeans appears in the lower portion. The composition reflects the strong local cult of Cybele in Galatia and the civic pride expressed through the naming of the presiding archon Arruntius Zoilos in his second term of office. |

Philip I's reign saw a surge in provincial bronze output across Asia Minor, driven partly by the celebrations surrounding Rome's millennial anniversary in 248 AD — the ludi saeculares — which prompted civic minting on a scale not seen in decades. Ancyra, the principal city of Phrygia Salutaris under the conventus of Sardis, issued civic bronzes under magistrates whose names appear in the genitive formula preserved in the obverse legend. The magistrate Zoilos recorded here held the archonship for the second time, a detail the legend makes explicit with the designation ΑΡ Α ΤΟ Β.
