| Aanvullende informatie |
Nicopolis ad Actium — the city Augustus founded on the site of his pre-battle camp before Actium in 31 BC — retained the right to strike civic bronze under Nero, one of relatively few Achaean communities to do so continuously through the Julio-Claudian period. The truncated legend ΝΕΡΩ[ΝΟΣ] is a recurring feature of this mint's output, a consequence of die cutters working within tight module constraints rather than any political gesture.
