| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing frontal figure of Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted in full length with head turned to the left. He is shown in long draped robes, leaning upon his attribute, the serpent-entwined staff (pedum), which rises prominently on his left side. The composition is characteristic of Nicaean civic bronze coinage of the Antonine period, with the deity occupying the full height of the reverse field. The encircling ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ runs around the periphery, though partially obscured by wear. |
