| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped and cuirassed bust of Macrianus II facing right, depicted with short hair and a youthful portrait characteristic of the co-emperor. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, naming the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, which is slightly irregular as is common for hammered provincial bronzes of this period. |
