正面描述 Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Titus facing right, rendered in the provincial hammered style typical of Herodian coinage. The effigy displays the characteristic wreath of laurel atop the head, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡ ΤΙΤΟC ΚΑΙCΑΡ CΕΒΑC, identifying the emperor as Titus Caesar Augustus. The flan is notably thick and irregular at the edges, consistent with the hand-struck bronze coinage of this region and period.

附加信息

Herod Agrippa II held his tetrarchy under Roman sufferance longer than almost any client ruler of his generation, surviving the Jewish War of 66–73 CE by backing Rome unambiguously — a position that earned him territory and kept him on his throne while Jerusalem burned. This issue, struck in year 6 of the Flavian era corresponding to 74–75 CE, belongs to his post-war coinage produced after the destruction of the Temple, when his authority rested entirely on Vespasian's goodwill.

Hendin 1248 is among the larger bronzes of his series, and specimens frequently show uneven flans from provincial casting practices.
