The effigy displays the characteristic portrait style of the Alexandrian mint, with a finely rendered beard and strong facial features. The surrounding Greek legend reads in two registers around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of Alexandrian provincial bronze coinage of this period. |

| Description du revers | Demeter standing facing with head turned to the left, draped in a long chiton and himation, extending her right hand to hold ears of grain and grasping a long torch in her left hand. The figure is rendered in the classical Hellenistic tradition characteristic of Alexandrian civic coinage, with the goddess's attributes clearly legible despite the worn condition of the flan. The regnal date legend L ΚΑ (Year 21) is placed in the field to either side of the figure, indicating the 21st year of Hadrian's reign corresponding to 136–137 CE. |
