| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in detail. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, surrounded by a Greek legend running along the periphery of the flan. The style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Mysian mint of Cyzicus during the reign of Gordian III (238–244 AD). |
