| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two deities standing facing one another in the field: Demeter-Cybele on the left, holding a long sceptre and ears of corn, with a lion at her feet, and Zeus on the right, holding an eagle and a sceptre. Between the two figures stands a lighted altar, emphasising the cultic character of the type. The composition reflects the syncretic religious imagery characteristic of Phrygian provincial bronzes of the mid-third century AD. The legend identifying the issuing community is disposed around the reverse field. |
