Reverse description Cybele, the Phrygian mother goddess, enthroned and seated to the left, holding a patera in her outstretched right hand while her left arm rests upon a tympanum. A lion, her sacred animal and attribute, reclines at her feet. The composition follows established Anatolian iconographic conventions for the cult of Cybele, reflecting the religious character of the Lysian civic coinage. The reverse legend in the exergual and field area names the issuing community.
