Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed three-quarter from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass rendered in detail. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, surrounded by a Greek legend disposed around the periphery within a dotted border. The portrait style is characteristic of provincial Antonine-era workshop conventions, with a youthful facial type consistent with Gordian III's known iconography.
