| Obverse description | Confronted busts of Emperor Gordian III, laureate, draped and cuirassed, facing right and seen from the rear, and the god Sarapis, draped and facing left, with a modius upon his head; a cornucopia appears behind the figure of Sarapis. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in the nominative case. The composition is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of Moesian bronze coinage. |
