| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, portrayed from the rear in the characteristic late Roman provincial style. The effigy displays a radiate or laureate wreath atop curling hair, with visible drapery over the left shoulder and the suggestion of military cuirass. The encircling Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The die work is typical of a colonial mint of the mid-third century, with bold if somewhat coarsely executed relief. |
