Parium, a Roman colony on the southern Marmara coast, retained the right to strike provincial bronze well into the third century — a privilege that grew administratively awkward as Gallienus consolidated authority following his father Valerian's capture by Shapur I in 260 AD. The colony's coins from the sole reign period reflect a mint operating under the Conventus of Adramyteum, a judicial district whose administrative reach across the Troad gave it oversight of several issuing cities simultaneously.
