Obverse description Radiate, helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing left, seen from the rear in a three-quarter perspective, with the figure holding a spear and shield. The bust is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Carian civic coinage of the mid-third century. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature.

Reverse description Tetrastyle temple with four columns and an arcuated lintel, rendered in frontal elevation in the provincial civic tradition. Within the intercolumniation stands a cult statue of Aphrodite facing right, evoking the famous cult of the goddess for which the city of Aphrodisias was renowned throughout the ancient world. The reverse legend in Greek encircles the temple type, identifying the issuing civic authority.
