Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted in three-quarter frontal view. The portrait displays the emperor in military attire with pauldron visible at the shoulder. The encircling obverse legend reads IMP LICINN CR in Latin characters around the periphery of the flan. The die work is characteristic of provincial Roman coinage from the Mysian mint of Parium, with a bold if somewhat roughly executed effigy. The irregular flan shows typical characteristics of mid-third century Æ provincial issues.
