Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, depicted from the rear, with paludamentum and scale armour visible. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Cyzican mint, with the laureate wreath clearly articulated. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait conveys the youthful features associated with Elagabalus's coinage from the Mysian region.
