Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Domitian facing right, with characteristic curled hair rendered in the Flavian style. The portrait is depicted with a draped shoulder visible at the bust truncation. A circular Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The die work reflects the provincial civic mint tradition of Phrygia, with a somewhat broad and flat relief typical of issues from the Conventus of Synnada.
