Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Commodus facing right, with characteristic curly hair and short beard rendered in the Antonine portrait style. The emperor is depicted with a radiate laurel wreath, his features modeled in high relief typical of provincial bronze coinage. The Greek imperial titulature legend encircles the bust within a dotted border. A test cut or banker's mark is visible on the cheek of the portrait.

Reverse description Athena standing left in full figure, helmeted and wearing a long chiton and himation, extending her right hand to present a small owl, while her left hand holds an upright spear. A large round shield rests against her left side. The goddess is rendered in a classical contrapposto stance on a ground line, with the city ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ distributed in the field on either side of the figure within a dotted border.
