Creteia-Flaviopolis was a minor Bithynian city whose civic coinage output was modest and geographically constrained in distribution — most surviving specimens turn up in the immediate region around Çerkeş in modern Turkey. The city's double name reflects a Flavian-era refoundation or grant, likely under Vespasian, layered onto an older settlement, and that dual identity persisted on local bronze issues well into the Severan period.
Provincial bronzes of Caracalla from this mint are genuinely scarce in the market.
