| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The laureate wreath is rendered with fine beaded detail, and the paludamentum is visible at the truncation. A partially preserved Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, reading ] ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝοϹ, with the opening portion off the irregular flan. The portrait displays the characteristic physiognomy of Antoninus Pius with a broad, bearded face and short, curled hair. |
