The emperor's portrait displays the characteristic full beard and mature facial features associated with his reign. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters, identifying the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The workmanship is typical of provincial bronze coinage struck in the Conventus of Cyzicus during the mid-second century AD. |
