The deity is robed in a long himation draped over his body and holds his characteristic attribute, the serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion of Asclepius), in his right hand. The Greek civic legend of Amastris runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the issuing city. The coin exhibits heavy patination and surface wear typical of long-circulated provincial bronze issues. |
