| Obverse description | Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing left, depicted from the rear in a three-quarter back view, a distinctive and relatively rare bust type in provincial coinage. The radiate crown is clearly visible above the bearded portrait, with the pauldrons and pteryges of the cuirass rendered in low relief. The Greek imperial titulature encircles the effigy as a continuous legend along the border of the flan. |
