| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from behind with the paludamentum visible across the shoulder. The Greek imperial legend encircles the portrait, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular, and the strike is somewhat weak, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. |

| Reverse description | The xoanon — the ancient, rigid cult statue of Samian Hera — is depicted facing, shown full-length in a formal, hieratic posture with arms extended outward, rendered in a highly stylised archaic manner characteristic of this well-known type. The figure wears a polos crown and elaborate drapery rendered in horizontal bands. The ethnic legend ϹΑΜΙΩΝ appears in the field around the statue, attributing the issue to the city of Samos. |
