In her right hand she holds a ship's rudder, symbolising guidance and good fortune, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The Greek ethnic legend of the city of Prusa ad Olympum is inscribed around the field, asserting the civic identity of the issuing authority. The reverse type follows a well-established iconographic tradition for Bithynian civic bronzes of the third century AD. |
