| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Herennius Etruscus facing right, depicted from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy displays the characteristic youthful features of the Caesar, son of Trajan Decius, with the imperial laurel wreath crowning the head. The surrounding legend in Greek characters runs along the coin's periphery. The flan shows the typical irregular fabric of provincial bronze coinage struck at Synnada in Phrygia during the mid-third century AD. |
