| Obverse description | Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing left, depicted frontally, with the radiate crown signifying imperial solar associations and the cuirass denoting his military rank. The surrounding legend, rendered in Greek characters, reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ ΓΑΙ ΜΕϹ ΚΥ ΤΡΑ ΔΕΚΙΟϹ ϹΕΒ, proclaiming his full titulature as Emperor Caesar Gaius Messius Quintus Traianus Decius Augustus. The portrait style is consistent with provincial Mesopotamian coinage of the mid-third century AD, exhibiting bold, somewhat schematic engraving typical of the Rhesaena mint.
